It’s genuinely difficult to know where to start with Downs who could be a transcendent talent. To me he’s comfortably the best player in the draft, an elite performer with a skillset that drips with Sunday ability and a mind that can process information like a super computer. In all the research for each player in the DraftBook, I was struck with so many things that I discovered about him, the former #6 overall player in the 2023 class, the USA Today Defensive Football Player of the Year, and the 2025 Thorpe Award winner. But this really stood out: When he was a prep sophomore, he became obsessed with greatness.
